About us

Imbeleko Community Development Project (ICDP) is a registered non-profit organisation under the NPO Act. Our primary mission is to empower youth, women, and people living with disabilities in both local and rural communities through training, education, and skills development.

We equip people with practical, income-generating skills such as furniture making, sewing, and agriculture, enabling them to fight unemployment, poverty, and social ills while building sustainable livelihoods.

Imbeleko works closely with various Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) and other partners to ensure that our training programmes are accredited, relevant, and market-driven. By aligning our work with both micro and macroeconomic needs, we prepare communities to thrive in an increasingly globalised world.

Our ultimate goal is empowerment: creating opportunities for self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and employment, while fostering stronger, more resilient communities. Through the transfer of technical and commercial skills, Imbeleko is helping to shape a generation of skilled Africans who can produce, manufacture, and innovate — not just as consumers of global goods, but as creators and contributors to the economy.
